J Wells Importers was founded in Sydney, Australia by John Wells in 1977. John immigrated to Australia from the UK, with his wife and two Children, after running a successful Electrical Contracting business for many years.

Originally the company imported the famous Kieninger clock movement from the Black Forest region of Germany. Kieninger is currently the oldest existing manufacturer of mechanical clock movements in the world. Since the Kieneger company has been taken over, separate movements are no longer available. However, our remaining stock is available at excellent prices.

In 1981 we began importing the high quality brand of Shontek quartz clock movements from Taiwan. Later adding such products as: music box movements, weather stations, and a full set of clock accessories such as pendulums, dials, bezels, spandrels and numbers.

As Shontek quartz movements are no longer manufactured as a major product line, we now import Young Town movements and accessories. Young town are the number one selling quartz movements in the world, known for their quality and reliability.

These products have proved popular with:

• schools - allowing students to produce excellent quality clocks which provide a lasting memento
• craft groups - including those who sell their clocks commercially
• individuals - who enjoy making clocks for themselves or as gifts for friends and families
• or those who simply want to get an old clock they love running again.

Due to the quality and low price of our products - many of our customers have returned again and again.

John has now retired and passed the business on to his son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Jenny Wells. We look forward to continue importing fine clock products for many years to come.
